So, yeah, I haven't put a comic or an argus up in forever. I'm still working on "Dorm of the Dead" from last year. There's lots of exciting things happening with that movie, and this is just one of them.

We got into a Film Festival!!

And not just any Festival, a comic-con. "Dorm of the the Dead" will be playing at the Phoenix Cactus Comic Convention Film Festival. We will be playing On Thursday at 9:10 in the pm.

I had to take a screen capture, because this is the first time I've seen our "Dorm of the Dead" being recognized by any website besides IMDB.

So if anyone was wondering, yes, I got a new smart phone. I bought the Motorola Droid. I am very much diggin' it. I like the google OS and most things about it. And while I certainly made fun of iphone owners before, now I'm relentless about it. Which is odd, because I'm typing this on a mac.

So stay tuned. Next week, we'll return to the usual weekly comic and soon, I'll return to the biweekly argus cartoon. After all, my prodasity is amazing right now.

Anyway, I've been feeling very productive, and because of that, I will be doing a full week of new comics. OMG, did I just hear that right? Yes, you did. Every day this week, there will be a brand new adventure with Coconut Monkey and Monkey Shiner.

Wow, it's like I'm actually cranking things out now.

Here's a new video I completed last week. It was very much a learning process. There are almost 1000 elements in the video. And probaly a few thousand Keyframe (points of animation). Not that that would mean anything to most people, but it a lot of stuff to do. So I hope you dig it.

A while ago, a director friend of mine asked me to man the camera on his new music video. Well, I just got a new camera, so I was more than willing to test it out.

This is an example of differing styles. Tobias Canto Jr., the director, had this great idea of moving through memories and experiencing the ideas that the song is about. I would have just put her in front of a Green Screen and told her, "sing until we fill the tape."

So anyway, here is Brookee Lin and her song "You'll Never Know."

Bear Ransom Video

So the other day, my friend sent me some photos that he and his lady friend took. They were torturing a stuffed bear for some kind of office prank war. I guess someone took her stapler. No... Really... Someone took her stapler and she tortured a stuffed bear because of it. Anyway, he asked if I would make a slide show with the pics and the song, "Don't Fear the Reaper."

Well, I don't really do slide shows. I've done video slide shows in past work, but not anymore. So this is what I did. To tell the truth, I think it's a little creepy for a work related prank war, but oh well.

So this is one reason I haven't posted that much. I've been working on a movie. Here's the first trailer. It doesn't really have all the good stuff. It's mostly there so that the actors (who didn't get paid) are willing to come back and do more stuff (for free). Everyone likes to see their face and name. It just feels good.

New toys to play with

So, I know I haven't done much. I plan on showing some new things and revisiting old things. I also plan on finishing things that have been sitting on my computer for a while. But I do have a very small test that I did today instead of doing homework. I got a new computer and was testing this new program called Motion. Maybe because I just watched HEROES or maybe because I'm just a huge comic geek, but I made this test to see how to use the program. I don't think it's going to be part of something bigger, but who knows.

Really, is there anything better to to do with a special effects program than give yourself super powers? I think not.

Argus has plans for vacation... kind of.

Nobody Walks in L.A.

I know what you're thinking, "Coconut Monkey, where the hell have you been?" Well, I'm in beautiful Los Angeles. I'm interning at Unviersal Studios... The actual studio, not the theme park. I've been here for a month and I haven't done anything fun. And since today is part of a three day weekend, I decided to do the tourist thing and walk about Hollywood.

So I give you COCONUT MONKEY'S HOLLYWOOD EXPERIENCE.

There's two great things about taking this picture. The first is actually seeing The Hoff's star of fame. The second is, that when I took this picture, five other people stopped to take one too. People LOVE The Hoff.

And can you believe who's right next door?

And just one more star down...

This really is the place to be.

Next stop, The Grauman's Chinese Theatre. This place was crowded. It was pretty funny though. People are trying to take pictures of the ground and others are just walking over it. You could see people were frustrated.

Of Course, when I took my picture, People backed off. Respect the Monkey, and the Monkey will respect you. Jack has huge hands and feet... compared to a Coconut Monkey at least.

There were also a bunch of people dressed up like movie characters. I was going to get a picture of them, but it was just really sad.
And now lets go over to the Kodak Theatre.

They're getting ready for the Oscars. Kinda neat.

Behind me now is The Hollywood Wax Museum.

Here's Hef. At my apartment I have cable and I watch anything. I've been watching "The Girls Next Door." The other day, Heff was where the same shirt my dad has. My dad's such a playboy.

Everything you hear about Chuck Norris is twice as true for his wax duplicate.

This is the worst Wax statue ever. It just a wax figure wearing a Darth Vader costume. Kind of lame.

The characters of the Matrix are jerks and kept telling me I was part of the problem. I told them that one monkey can't make a difference. The chick pulled a gun on me. I hate people somtimes.

Wilson was giving me the evil eye. Once again, celebrities are dicks.

I had to tell them that there was no milk in me. The didn't believe me.

You know, I wasn't looking for it. I just planned on doing the tourist thing. But I was pulled there by some unknown force. And to tell the truth, I think I finally found my home. Farewell psychology. I'm done being so glib.

Well, I hope you had fun. And hopefully, I'll post more adventures as I explore this mysterious and scary land.

So finals are over. I think I did okay, but that's niether here nor there. The imprtant thing is, I finally have time to do what will really help my future. And that's make comics and Argus videos. You can think of it as a late Hanukkah present or an early Christmas gift. But my family likes to think of it as a Hanukwanzmas miracle.

That's right, boys and girls, this is the first fridge magnet I ever got. I was tending bar and some regulars were going home for a vacation. I jokingly asked for a fridge magnet and they got me one. Since then, I've collected magnets from other people's vacations. It all starts with a simple thing.

I collect fridge magnets fromt other people's vacations. I figured nows as good a time as any to give you the tour of my fridge magent collection and there's no better place to start than the coconut magnet. So here goes.

Monkey's Gotta Brand New Bag

Well, here is the new and improved "Coconut Monkey Films." With a brand new look and amazing new features. First of all. If you subscribed to any RSS feed or with itunes, you'll have to re-subscribe. Due to the changes, I lost all those feeds.

But there is something that some of you may notice. This page is on www.coconutmonkeyfilms.com. No more "blogspot" in the title, so now it's easier to tell all your friends.

Also, I will only be posting videos that I own 100% of. Which means there won't be anymore music videos here, but if I make one, I will post a link to it. Also, I will be making webcomics. Which should start this coming week.

My First Music Video

Okay, most of the things I do are music videos, but this is actually for a musician, not a bunch of toys or a devil cat. This was filmed at The Coffee House on Tanque Verde and Sabino Canyon in Tucson Arizona. I went twice to make sure I had enough coverage. The second time I went, the whole set up was different. So I couldn’t just do a performance video, like I planned. I’ve been sitting on this video for a while, until I saw a little throw away effect on a TV commercial. You’ll know what it is the second it happens, because that’s all that happens in this video. So here it goes, please enjoy the musical machismo of Mr. Zach Anderson.
